Case study · Manufacturing · UAE

Five years of WhatsApp, moved into the business's own system. The phone kept working.

On 20 September 2026 a UAE manufacturer's working WhatsApp number, the one printed on their vehicles, was connected to a system we built for them. Nobody gave up the phone in their hand, and no customer had to do anything.

Where they started

Their customers had messaged the same number for five years. Staff answered from the WhatsApp Business app on a phone, which worked, and left the business with no record it could search, report on or hand over when someone was away.

Most WhatsApp software makes a business choose. Keep the app, and keep flying blind. Or move the number to the API, get a proper system, and lose the phone the team actually answers from. They did not want to make that choice, and with Meta’s Coexistence they did not have to.

What changed

The phone in the team’s hand

Still the WhatsApp Business app, still working.

Hi, could you send me a quote for 20 office chairs?

Also on the WhatsApp Business app

Of course, Layla. Sending it now.

The business’s own system

Every message, both directions, kept and assigned.

Illustration of the arrangement, with example names. A message sent from either side appears on the other.

Same number, same phone
The WhatsApp Business app stayed installed and working. Messages sent from the handset appear in the system; messages sent from the system appear on the handset.
The history came across
Five years of conversations were imported, so the first customer who wrote in after the switch was answered by someone who could see everything that came before.
One place for the whole team
Conversations now sit in the business's own system, where they can be searched, assigned and read by whoever is covering, not locked on one person's phone.
Customers noticed nothing
Same number, same name, same WhatsApp. The change is entirely on the business's side of the conversation.

Events that failed

Measured on the night, not projected. One thing did go wrong: on the first pass, 7 of 18 photos and files sent from the phone arrived without their attachment. Because we keep every message Meta sends us exactly as it arrives, all 18 were recovered the next day.

What we would tell the next business

Import on a quiet evening
Five years of history takes a couple of hours to bring across. Plan it for after hours and tell the team in advance.
Learn the 24-hour rule on day one
A business can reply freely within 24 hours of a customer's last message. After that, it needs a message template Meta has approved. Get the first few approved before anyone needs one.
The platform work is already done on our side
We have been a verified Meta Tech Provider since 9 September 2026, so your connection does not wait on ours.

Why the client is not named

They agreed to the figures on this page being published. Their name, their number and their customers’ messages stay private, which is the same promise we make to every client.

Is your business like this one?

If your customers already message you on WhatsApp and the answers live on a few phones, the manufacturing page shows what the first two weeks usually look like, and pricing shows what it costs.
